Popup banner (overlay) section

With the Charge theme, there’s no need to add apps to show a popup banner. You can use the popup within the template functionality to announce events and boost sales.

To show a pop-up banner, visit the Online Store - Homepage and click on the Overlay section. You can add multiple popups with different settings, even if they are not added to the theme by default.

For instance, you can create a pop-up with a newsletter subscription form. The pop-up appears once the page is loaded.

Then you can make a second pop-up appear on exit intent. It will engage the customers to make their first purchase. In the pop-up, you may offer a promo code with a discount or some free gift for new customers. You can also add a third pop-up. For example, if you plan to upgrade your site, you have to inform all visitors that your website will be temporarily unavailable in the future. 

Note that the pop-up is not limited to only text or text with images. You can upload just an image (and set a link to some product/collection). For example, to celebrate Independence Day, you can show a gorgeous picture created to your liking and invite visitors to check out your new collection of special items.

When you configure the popup, it is possible to:

• Create a text for the popup in a text editor. Here you can add headings, links, bold text, etc.
• Show a “Subscribe to Newsletter” form.
• Show a countdown timer. Here, you can set the days and hours the counting starts from. Please also choose colors for the text foreground and box background.
• Add the image for the popup banner.
• Set the link to the image.
• Set the condition when the popup appears. You can show a popup Immediately and On exit intent.
• Set the popup banner frequency. The possible values are Once per day and Once per week.

Note: A popup will be displayed until the visitor clicks on the close button (X). Once a visitor clicks close, the action is stored in the browser's local storage. Now pay attention to the popup option "Frequency". If the popup has a frequency of "once per day" and the visitor closes it with an X button, then the next time visitor can see it only the next day. The same condition is for frequency "once per week". Next time visitors can see the popup when the current week ends.

Note: Once you change a popup block settings all data about it are reset for all visitors. And popup will be shown for visitors even if he/she closed it earlier.
