With the Divine theme, you can show a popup banner without any apps. You can use the Overlay option and add multiple popups with different settings within the template functionality. For instance, you can add a Newsletter popup to engage users to subscribe and receive interesting information from your store. In the Divine theme, we show it by default.
You can also add another popup to offer a promo code with a discount or some free gift for new customers. Adding a third popup is possible, too. For example, you plan to upgrade your site, so you have to inform all visitors that your website will be temporarily unavailable in the future.
To configure a popup banner, go to the Online Store - Homepage and click on the Overlay section. Here you can see a Subscribe to our emails block.
Here it is possible to:
- Enter the text.
- Show the Subscribe to Newsletter form.
- Add more useful information to the popup.
- Select the image and add the link to the required store page or product.
- Choose the position between Underneath and On the left.
Then you can configure the time when the popup appears. Use settings from the Behaviour subsection of the Subscribe to our emails settings:
- Show popup immediately.
- Show popup on exit intent.
- Set the frequency for the popup display. Possible values are Once per day and Once per week.
We show On exit intent value in the Divine theme by default. It helps to engage the customer to stay longer on the page.
Now pay attention to the next information
- A popup will appear until the visitor clicks the close button (X). Once the visitor clicks close, the browser stores the action in its local storage.
- If the popup has a frequency of "once per day" and the visitor closes it with an X button, then the next time, the visitor can see it only the next day. The same condition is for frequency "once per week". Next time visitors can see the popup when the current week ends.
- Once you change a popup block settings all data about it are reset for all visitors. A popup will be shown for visitors even if he/she closed it earlier.
- You may add a blur overlay to highlight other parts of the page.
